TERA Environment takes action to address PFAS monitoring challenges
Analysis of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances): ongoing developments since 2024

We are constantly improving our methods to provide analyses that are increasingly accurate and reliable.
TERA Environnement attended the PFAS congress, organized by WEBS-EVENT in Paris from June 16 to 19, 2026
TERA Environnement’s teams participated in the PFAS congress organized by WEBS-EVENT in Paris, a must-attend event bringing together experts, manufacturers, local governments, and environmental monitoring professionals to discuss issues related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
TThe event provided an opportunity to discuss regulatory developments, analytical challenges, and monitoring solutions that can help better characterize the presence of these persistent compounds in the environment.
On this occasion, Marie-Joe Akiki presented the initial findings titled “Real-Time Calibration Using PTR-ToF-MS and Flow-Through Tube Measurements of PFAS Emissions from Consumer Products” from her ongoing thesis, which is co-funded by TERA Environnement and conducted at the Laboratoire de Chimie de l’Environnement (Aix Marseille Université).
Recognized expertise in measuring PFAS in the air
Against the backdrop of increasingly stringent environmental monitoring requirements, TERA Environnement is able to perform PFAS analysis in outdoor ambient air and atmospheric deposition using LC-MS/MS.
The laboratory obtained COFRAC Essais* accreditation in September 2025, thereby guaranteeing the reliability and quality of the results it produces and making TERA Environnement the first French laboratory to be accredited in these fields.

The laboratory also offers PFAS analysis in indoor air and soil gases, demonstrating its versatility across various gaseous matrices and its ability to address a wide range of environmental issues.
These services help manufacturers, AASQAs, local governments, and engineering firms assess the environmental impact of their activities and meet the growing regulatory requirements regarding PFAS.
An expanded offering thanks to our partnership with TOXILABO
In addition to outdoor ambient air and atmospheric deposition, TERA Environnement draws on the expertise of its Nantes-based laboratory, TOXILABO, to offer PFAS analyses in other matrices: stack emission, workplace air, and biological fluids (blood).
This complementary approach allows us to address a wide range of PFAS characterization needs and to offer our clients comprehensive expertise in measuring, monitoring, and understanding PFAS transport across various environmental compartments.
