Why carry out indoor air quality (IAQ) measurements?

Indoor air quality is a major public-health issue because we spend an average of 80% of our time in enclosed spaces. In France, IAQ monitoring in certain public-access buildings (ERP) has been a regulatory requirement since Law no. 2010-788 of 12 July 2010. It includes an annual assessment of ventilation systems and CO2 measurement, a self-assessment every four years, and a measurement campaign for regulated pollutants (formaldehyde, benzene and CO2) at certain key stages in the life of the building.
