Why carry out stack-emission air measurements?

Industrial emissions are governed by European Directive 2010/75/EU on industrial emissions (IED). Classified installations for environmental protection (ICPE) subject to authorization must monitor and control the concentrations of pollutants released into the atmosphere. These measurements are used to verify compliance with emission limit values (ELVs) and prevent impacts on the environment and public health.
