What is AdBlue®?
AdBlue® is an additive used in diesel engines equipped with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are harmful atmospheric pollutants. AdBlue® consists mainly of demineralized water and urea, which react chemically with the exhaust gases, transforming them into water vapor and nitrogen that are harmless to the environment.
AdBlue® is mandatory for diesel vehicles complying with the Euro 6 emissions standard, which came into force in September 2014. Many automakers use this technology.
Why carry out AdBlue® quality control?
AdBlue® quality control is an important measure to ensure the proper operation of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel vehicles. If AdBlue® is of poor quality, it can cause engine problems such as crystals, blockages or poor combustion. It can also lead to loss of performance or increased fuel consumption.
AdBlue® quality control according to ISO 22241-2 is a set of test methods designed to verify the conformity of the urea solution used in diesel vehicles equipped with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. ISO 22241-2 includes appendices defining the parameters to be tested, the measurement methods and the authorized limits.
TERA Environnement has been assisting you with AdBlue® quality control for over 10 years.
What are the parameters to be analyzed?
